Welcome to BCS Sixth Form

Sixth Form at BCS offers a world away from the typical school experience – this is the stage of education where our pupils are encouraged to grow and develop personally, academically and professionally with a greater independence and sense of responsibility. 

You will have greater independence than you are likely to have experienced in school previously. You will have personal study time where you can make use of study rooms or study in the more relaxed atmosphere of the common room. With this increase in independence comes additional responsibilities and we will support you throughout your Sixth Form journey.

Your personal tutor will work closely with you supporting your wellbeing and academic progress towards your targets. The Sixth Form team will provide support with university and apprenticeship applications to allow you to pursue your ambitions.

You will also have opportunities to take on important whole school roles with genuine responsibility and the chance to make a difference to your community. You will be able to make a significant contribution to the school and become a role model to younger pupils through the prefect system as well as getting involved with BCS Prep School. You will also have the opportunity to attend various trips both in the UK and abroad and other social events that create friendships and lifelong bonds with fellow pupils.

Sixth Form is a stage when you can concentrate on the subjects that you enjoy, taught in smaller groups in a more informal style. You will manage your own workload; take ownership of your studies and education experiencing a different relationship with teachers; learning in partnership with them on a much more equal footing to enable them to share with you their knowledge and enthusiasm for their subject.
