BCS is celebrating another year of excellent A Level results, with improvements on last year's outcomes and exceptional achievements across a wide range of subjects.

The 2026 results demonstrate continued academic progress, with increases in the proportion of pupils achieving both A*-A and A-B grades compared with 2025. Particularly pleasing is a 7% increase in A* grades, while more than one-third of all grades were awarded at A* or A.

Several subjects achieved outstanding results, with 100% of grades awarded at A* and A in Performing Arts, French, Russian and Music Technology. There was also 100% pass success in all language subjects, Photography and the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), reflecting the dedication of both pupils and staff.

While every pupil's achievements deserve recognition, several individuals have secured particularly notable results.

Monty achieved an impressive A*, A*, A, A, and will go on to study Medicine at Queen's University Belfast.

Daria achieved a remarkable A* A* A*, A* and has secured the opportunity to study Psychology at either King's College London or the University of Melbourne.

Heidi achieved A*, A*, A and A and will progress to University of the Arts London to study Illustration.

The achievements of this year's cohort extend far beyond the classroom. The class of 2026 has played a significant role in some of the school's most successful years in sport and the performing arts, demonstrating the ability to balance demanding academic programmes with high-level extracurricular commitments.

Among them is Louisa, who combines her studies with representing Dorset Women's Cricket, while achieving outstanding academic results including A* A* grades. Theo, meanwhile, celebrated national sporting success this summer by securing a gold medal at a national championship, alongside his academic achievements.

Many pupils have also secured places on prestigious arts, creative and performing arts degree programmes, while there has been a notable increase in pupils pursuing science-related pathways including Medicine, Physiotherapy and Psychology university destinations span a broad range of leading institutions across the UK and internationally, reflecting the diverse aspirations of the year group.

Commenting on the results, Maria Coulter, Principal of Bournemouth Collegiate School, said:

"I am incredibly proud of every member of our Year 13 cohort. These young people have brought energy, humour and ambition to our school community. They have supported one another, thrown themselves into every opportunity and demonstrated the confidence to pursue their individual passions. Their success today reflects not only their academic accomplishments but also the character and values they have developed during their time at BCS.”

As pupils celebrate their results and final days at BCS, the school extends its congratulations to the entire Class of 2026 and thanks staff, families and supporters who have played such an important role in their achievements.
