COURSE OVERVIEW

Music Technology A-Level is perfect for pupils who are truly passionate about music and the advances that have been made through technology.

It is recommended that GCSE Music has been taken as a prerequisite subject, as this provides experience of learning about music genres, composition and music theory. However, this is not essential, on the condition that you possess a studious and inquisitive approach to learning. A knowledge of GCSE Physics will also give a helpful but not essential basis for both theoretical and practical understanding of sound.

Music Technology A Level covers the study of a wide range of popular music styles and provides a deep understanding of the development and impact of technology on music and the industry.

Pupils studying Music Technology in the Sixth Form are privileged to spend five hours a week in our school studio, working with the programme Logic Pro X. Through this work they learn how record to a high standard, edit and manipulate live sound, sequence and produce digital sound.
