National ESSA Championships qualification for Year 8!

Our Year 8 boys Ethan, Connor, Monty and Angus have qualified for the National ESSA (English Schools Swimming Association) Secondary School Team Championships to be held at the Sandwell Aquatics Centre, Birmingham which was purpose built for the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Our team have qualified for the Junior (Year 7 and 8) 4x50 Freestyle Relay as well as the 4x50 Medley Relay.

The National Finals will take place on Saturday 18th November.

The Secondary Schools Team Relay Championships is the longest running championship series organised by the ESSA.  It is open to secondary school aged swimmers from across England, including state, public and home-schooled students. Teams compete in 4x50m Freestyle and Medley relays. The Championships is run as a National Final with competing schools determined by the fastest times achieved in a qualifying round organised by the ESSA divisions. In 2022 there were 2099 teams from over 300 schools who participated in the qualifying round in 20 separate galas across the country.

Congratulations to our young team and good luck in the finals!
