BCS Receives Impressive ISI Report

Back
27th May 2025

Bournemouth Collegiate was inspected by the Schools Independent Inspectorate between the 11th and 13th of March 2025. This was the school’s first inspection under the new ISI framework. There were two inspection teams covering the Prep School and Senior School.

Under the updated inspection model, schools no longer receive a single overall judgement. Instead, they are assessed on how well they meet standards across five key areas:

  1. Leadership, Management, and Governance
  2. Quality of Education, Training, and Recreation
  3. Pupils’ Physical and Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing
  4. Pupils’ Social and Economic Education and Contribution to Society
  5. Safeguarding

We are delighted to report that both schools surpassed expectations meeting all five standards and received excellent feedback.

Over a period of four days a team of five inspectors at each site examined all of the schools’ provision. They observed lessons, completed staff parent and pupil questionnaires, held staff and pupil discussions, held meetings with all school departments and leaders, attended assemblies, activities and clubs. They visited boarding, held discussions with pupils and staff, observed meal times and inspected all facilities. We are delighted by the positive comments which we received during our inspection and which now appear in the official report.

BCS has worked incredibly hard at instilling our values and putting pupils’ wellbeing at the heart of all we do. Through a culture built on kindness, we foster a supportive and inclusive environment where every pupil feels valued and empowered. We encourage pride in work, ensuring pupils develop strong work ethics and take ownership of their learning. Respect is at the core of our community, where pupils, staff, and families collaborate in an atmosphere of mutual understanding. I am incredibly proud to see these strengths highlighted in our reports.

We nurture ambition, inspiring learners to set high goals and strive for excellence in all areas of their education. Together, our values create a school environment where pupils can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

“Pupils are friendly and show mutual respect in line with the high expectations set by leaders.”
