COURSE OVERVIEW

Further Mathematics A-Level is for those who really enjoy and excel in Mathematics and want to extend their knowledge and strengthen their understanding of the subject. 

You will study the areas of Pure Mathematics, Mechanics and Statistics as covered in A-Level Mathematics but will be developing an understanding of and ability to use much more complex or abstract methods such as complex numbers, hyperbolic functions and differential equations. 

Students will need to have a strong mathematical ability in terms of knowledge, application and the ability to think logically and to problem solve.

 

What can pupils' study next?

This is a very marketable A-Level in terms of acceptability. 

It is a necessary requirement for studying Mathematics at university. Courses in science, engineering, economics and business all require a certain amount of mathematical content.
