News

This year BCS took three performance squads to compete in the largest rugby 7s tournament in the world, Rosslyn Park National School 7s. All three squads represented BCS to the highest standard both on and off the field and showed real development and promise in the world of rugby 7s.

Tuesday 19th March -

BCS U14s A strong squad captained by Will, demonstrated real drive and determination throughout the tournament. Scoring 48 points over three fixtures showed the attacking threat the team possessed. The biggest win was over St George’s International School, who had travelled to the tournament from Luxembourg.

Player of the tournament and top try scorer was Phoenix.

Wednesday 20th March –

BCS U16s The squad had been drawn in a particularly difficult group. Captain and player of the tournament, Dan, led the boys to some great performances. The squad showed magnificent commitment in defence and through powerful runs by Oliver challenged the defence of some top teams. The whole squad showed excellent character throughout.

Thursday 21st March –

BCS U13s The year 8s entered the one-day tournament, which gave them five tough fixtures over the course of the day. The squad scored three excellent tries against the winning school, which was the most tries they had conceded throughout the tournament. In total the U13s scored 70 points across their five games which was very impressive.

Player of the tournament went to captain Reuben for his tremendous work rate all through the tournament.

Every player in each squad gave it their all and demonstrated resilience, leadership, and hard work. This is an exciting time for BCS Rugby, and we look forward to next season and next year’s tournament with the hopeful addition of a girls’ rugby squad. A massive thank you to all the players, the parents who came to support the pupils and to the staff for supporting throughout the tournament.
