GCSE Results 2022
News

As the first-year exams returned after the turbulence of the pandemic years, emotions were running high as the results came in for the BCS Senior class of 2022.

Just under 90% of students achieved grades at 9-4, with over 50% of the results graded 9-6.

Headmaster, Russell Slatford, said: “One would be hard-pressed to have asked more of the Year 11 over the last two years as they prepared for their GCSE examinations. There were lockdowns, changes to content and examination structure, and even some issues with the questions in the actual examinations, but throughout they have remained committed and focused.

So it is no surprise that they achieved a fantastic set of results – in fact the second best in the school’s history. There are too many personal achievements and individual outstanding results to mention them here but I am particularly pleased that many practical subjects which had even greater challenges to overcome in lockdown like music, art, photography, drama, performing arts, sport and PE achieved 100% pass rate, as did Computer Science, Russian, Biology, English Language and Literature.

The amazing young people at BCS have overcome adversity and been rewarded with results to be deeply proud of, well done to all of them.”
