Our Staff

Meet Our Team

Head of Boarding – Mr Mark Single

Mr Single, the new Head of Boarding as of Sept.'15, is a Design & Technology and Food Studies teacher. His family - Alice, daughter Daisy and Jessica the cat - have spent the last 5 years working in a United Learning sister school in Kent, prior to moving to BCS. He enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, collecting cookery books, cooking and restoring classic cars - his latest project being a 1983 Fiat X1/9.

Head of Girls’ Boarding – Mrs Nowak

Mrs Nowak undertook the Boarding Schools Association's qualification for boarding staff and now holds the Certificate of Professional Practice in Boarding Education from the BSA in conjunction with Roehampton University. She loves travelling and also enjoys long walks on the beach and reading. She tries to learn something new from every experience! Her fundamental aim is to encourage the girls to become caring, thoughtful, and confident members of Boarding family.

Head of Boys’ Boarding – Mr O’Donoghue

Mr O’Donoghue is a former Modern Foreign Languages teacher {French & Spanish} who recently retrained to teach EAL {English as an Additional Language}. He recognises that in this way he can directly influence international boarders with their English language acquisition. He is passionate about boarding and ensuring the boys are happy, healthy and safe. He enjoys all sports, playing the guitar and travelling the world. He loves living and working on the ‘British Riviera’ here in Bournemouth.

Housemaster – Mr Parfitt

Mr Parfitt is the Lead Age Group Coach for the BCS Swimming Academy. He enjoys swimming, going to the gym and cooking.

Housemistress – Miss Berry

Miss Berry has worked in this school for nearly twenty years, the last six, as part of the boarding team.  She is currently a Housemistress in girls' boarding, which she finds extremely rewarding. Miss B considers it to be a great privilege to be part of the boarder's journey from childhood to adulthood, advising, helping, both academically and pastorally, comforting them, as and when necessary.  The only down side, that she can think of, is when it is time for the girls to leave us, to embark on the next stage of their journey. Fortunately, however, with today's technology it is easy for them to keep in touch about their achievements and thankfully they nearly all do, so any tears when they say goodbye, are replaced by feelings of pride.

Boys' Boarding's Assistant Houseparent - Alex Webb

Mr Webb is a new addition to the team at BCS.  He will be the new Assistant Houseparent in Davies House.  Mr Webb studied BA English Language and Applied Linguistics at Reading University.  He hopes to further his research into English in Tanzanian schools, in the near future.  His hobbies include playing the guitar, going to the gym, travelling and yoga.

Girls' Boarding's Assistant Houseparent - Hollie Leigh

Mrs Leigh completed a degree in Applied Theology last summer and has been working as a Pastoral Assistant in a boarding school in Oxford for the past year.  She has just got married and loves baking, shopping, sewing, creating things and spending time with friends and family.  She loves being part of all aspects of the boarding community and making the most of every opportunity!

Housemistress - Hayley Morris

Miss Morris is the school Triathlon Coach and works in the PE department.  Miss Morris was a previous competitive swimmer and also works on the school learn to swim programme.  When not working Miss Morris enjoys being active - whether going to the gym, cycling, paddle boarding and walking her two dogs - Polo and Murray.

Housemaster - Luke Richardson

Mr Richardson has been a member of the boarding staff team for the last 2 years.  He is also the Head of Rugby at BCS.  As well as rugby, he enjoys playing cricket during the summer months at his local club in Plymouth, Devon.

Mrs White

Mrs White works as a school nurse at BCS.  She thoroughly enjoys the challenge of school nursing! She has been nursing for many years and has worked in a variety of places. She has two children, aged 10 and 14, so has a good idea of both the problems and pleasure that children bring! She loves reading and swims and walks when she has the time.

Mrs Masding

Mrs M is part of the school nurse team. She lives in Poole and enjoys cycling and playing football on the beach with her family! She loves the summer as her husband does a mean BBQ and is especially looking forward to August so she can use her new season ticket to watch AFC Bournemouth. She also loves going to the cinema and spending time with family and friends.
