BCS Sixth Form is a dedicated section of the school focusing on the study of A Levels. This means our close community of c.120 students are aged 16-19 and studying to progress either to university or to employment. As part of this community you will enjoy the balance of your time table, through lessons, study time and free time.
The Sixth Form attracts an international contingent, due to it's boarding opportunities, which allows a diverse mix of cultures and the opportunities of making friends from different corners of the globe. The environment is both friendly and welcoming which in turn, develops a close and supportive group of students. The location of the beach, is perfect for group activities during the summer term, and often provides a place for a short walk to clear the head when exams and deadlines approach.
During free time & lunch, both the Southbourne High Sreet and shops of Boscombe are within 10 minutes of the campus.
Prefects roles and the positions of both Head Boy/Girl and their deputies present themselves in the Sixth Form, as well as the rewarding opportunities of mentoring younger pupils from years 7-11. Organisational skills can be developed with events across the school such as Life Challenge, Year 7/8 Ball, Year 11 end of school Prom, Sixth Form Winter Ball as well as the Sixth Form Leavers Dinner. A group of Volunteers this year will take their places on the Eco-Bungalow Building trip to Laos Oct 2018.
Other trips are available throughout the year, which in recent years have included the likes of the Computer Science & History Trip to Bletchley, Visual Arts Trips, UCAS conferences and an extremely popular Biology residential trip.
