Virtual Harvest Festival

22 October 2020

BCS Prep celebrated Harvest Festival virtually this year, bringing together the school community at a time where gatherings are not possible.

On Wednesday 21st October over 200 families tuned in to the Virtual Harvest Festival livestream, with children watching from their classrooms in school. We celebrated with an afternoon full of music, performances and giving thanks. Kindergarten to Year 6 displayed pieces of artwork, performed spoken word pieces and even took part in sign language songs.

We also welcomed a Harvest prayer from Reverend Chris Strain from St Luke's Church in Parkstone, along with an exploration of what Harvest Festival means from Miss Smith.

Miss Smith, Head of BCS Prep, said "Our Harvest Festival celebrations were a perfect illustration of the strong sense of community spirit and social responsibility within BCS Prep. It was a little strange holding a virtual harvest festival but nevertheless the message was as powerful as ever, one of thankfulness, appreciation and generosity."
