Year 10 pupil Leo has been selected to represent the 'Swiss National Paralympic Team' at international competitions.

Last half term holiday involved a successful mad dash to the Swiss Embassy in London, due to the kind intervention of the 'Swiss Paralympic Committee' requesting a special appointment to fast track Leo's Swiss Passport for international clearance.

Leo was originally invited by TeamGB to join the "British Podium Potential Squad" last year to target a Paralympic Medal with the "Podium Team GB Squad" for the "Paris 2024 Paralympics".

However, the opportunity to join the Swiss National Paralympic Team will now offer Leo the realistic opportunity of qualifying for both this year's "World Para Swimming 2019 Champs" in August and also next year's "Tokyo 2020 Paralympics"!

As part of the qualifying process for the "World Para Swimming 2019 Champs", Leo is now required to make his international debut for Switzerland at the "World Para Swim International Series Meets" in both the "British International Para Swim Meet" at Glasgow in April and at the "International Disability Meet" at Berlin in June.

"I would like to thank all the coaches at Bournemouth Collegiate School for the terrific encouragement and support shown to Leo, and I am show they will continue to enjoy the challenge that awaits both Leo and them in the pursuit of Leo's "Paralympic Dream"!" - Leo's Father
