Activities - Trips - Opportunities
There is a huge range of
opportunities available to each student.
Many subject based trips will be available
throughout the sixth form years, but we also offer other trips, either solely
for sixth formers or with the rest of the school. The sixth form New York trip is always fun,
so too the trip to Nepal, the ski trips, and exchanges in Spain and France, and
the other trips abroad and in the UK.
Everyone takes part in a team
building residential in the Purbecks early in Year 12, while the sports teams
enjoy their many outings and matches. The
Duke of Edinburgh Award is great fun, and we have students undertaking the
bronze, silver and gold awards.
Many students take up the many
leadership opportunities within the school.
School perfects, heads of houses, mentors for younger pupils, working on
our prep site, working in the school’s reception office: there are so many.
There is a full range of school
activities on a daily basis, and sixth formers can join in or run these. In addition the extensive enrichment programme,
which has something new on each Thursday, really benefits all sixth
formers.
Sixth formers attend many
conferences and seminars, and at BCS we also ensure that they attend all the
university open days.
The opportunities beyond the
subjects studied are enormous at BCS.
