So Many Choices

So many choices – academic, social, musical, sporting, business, performing, creative, personal development, leadership.....Sixth Form opportunities are many at BCS, almost too many, and you will be able to make your own choice to fill your week to suit your needs.  The school aims to let you fly!  Our Heads of Sixth Form, Mrs Crane and Mr Sheehan, and all the sixth form staff, will work with you to ensure that your sixth form years are exciting, successful, rewarding and fun.

BCS believes in individual programmes of study.  We arrange our subject blocks to ensure that you have every opportunity of choosing your first choice subjects.  However, we have a unique way of arranging the timetable and this ensures that we are able to break away from the normal subject blocks and mix and match subjects to suit.  In addition, we have a link with Highcliffe Sixth Form – this means that we can tap into their subject blocks too.  The choice of subjects is huge, the combination is almost limitless.  We will plan a timetable for every student individually.

And of course, the extracurricular choices are vast and extensive.  Students are spoilt for choice.  There is something for everyone.  An Y13 student commented: “From the first day I joined the sixth form I was welcomed by everyone. This school really encourages individuality and expression.  We are all so different, some of us are sporty, others arty, others real academics, some are quite lazy – yet somehow BCS seems to get us all working together, working for each other, having fun and achieving.  No one is seen as different, we all just get on with everyone else.  The staff really know how to motivate us, and they work so hard putting on so many different activities, trips, productions and matches for us to enjoy.  And above all they really do know every one of our strengths and weaknesses.  They are our friends.  I am sure this is why we all seem to do better in exams that we expect.”
