Facilities

BCS Senior is located in Southbourne only a 2 minute walk from the beautiful sandy beaches.

The School is 3 miles from both Bournemouth and Christchurch centres and is well served by an extensive public transport system. The nearest train station is less than a mile from the school.

There are extensive facilities set in an attractive 5 acre campus with a surprising amount of open space for an urban location, which includes a woodland area.

The main building and centre piece of the school dates back to 1872 and was the former summer residence of Lord Wentworth. The site balances history and tradition with a modern and progressive feel. The site also includes an indoor swimming pool, astro turf and state of the art gym.

Our pupils learn in bright, attractive and spacious classrooms, there is a large sports hall, drama hall and specialist classrooms.

  • The school has a multi-functional drama facility used extensively for music, drama and public speaking performances.
  • We have a large designated design technology workshop both well stocked with the materials and specialist tools needed to enable pupils to design and create their masterpieces.
  • Our science laboratories are in keeping with the traditional feel to the school and are well resourced with a range of equipment that enables pupils to experiment and engage in exciting and interesting science investigations from Year 7 through to more complex experiments at A Level.

We have a large sports hall with four badminton courts, the Senior School sports hall also includes an Olympic sized basketball court, volleyball courts, indoor hockey, netball and football courts and cricket nets.
