Getting the Right Results

At BCS we aim that, as a basic minimum, all pupils, irrespective of their ability or starting point on entry to our school, will achieve at least one grade at GCSE or A level above their potential.  We pride ourselves on excellent value-added scores, and our mission is to ensure that every pupil outperforms academically.

Our curriculum and subject choice has been designed to ensure that we can cater for all interests, we have developed a very unique and innovative curriculum that has taken into account the different learning styles of pupil, the fact that some pupil want a purely academic curriculum, others want a practical subject choice, and yet others want a combination of the two.  We do not do what all other schools do, or simply follow the norm in timetabling lessons and in our subject choice offer – we innovate to ensure we get the best out of everyone.  We would be happy discuss our innovative curriculum with you.  Every child can flourish and every child can find the subject choice they want.

You will see that our results are exceptional for a non-selective school.  Our top academics are expected to achieve only A* at GCSE and A level, and they do, in abundance.  Pupils who need support are given this to ensure that they too achieve top results.

Many of our pupils will describe themselves as ‘academics’’, and they love BCS, not only because we stretch them academically, but also because they are able to deliver so many other skills they never knew they had due to our extensive extracurricular programme and our broad curriculum.
