Into the Performing Arts?

The entire world is a stage!  If this is your passion, then go for it.  At BCS we have termly productions and performances that ensure that all age ranges are well catered for.  The school has a number of drama teachers and teachers with experience of producing and directing, and they all use their different skills and interests to ensure that our performing arts department is able to perform to a range of tastes and styles.  Modern and serious, musical and comedy, one act plays to full length productions, class drama groups to theatre club productions, acting, singing or dancing – if you want it you have it at BCS.

All pupils in Years 7-9 have one timetabled lesson per week in the autumn term that is devoted specifically to the Junior Musical. Pupils elect to contribute to the specific area that they are interested in; drama, music, dance, set design, costume design, back stage and the business aspects of PR and marketing.

Drama is a subject taught across the whole school and drama and theatre studies is a popular GCSE and A level course.

Speech and drama lessons are popular for some members of our school community and our pupils regularly compete in many speech and drama festivals, including those in Bournemouth and Southampton.
