BCS welcomes former Archbishop of Canterbury
Bournemouth Collegiate School was delighted to welcome the former Archbishop of Canterbury, The Rt Rev and Rt Hon Lord Carey of Clifton to open our new multi-million pound boarding house on Friday 7th October. He also entertained pupils in an assembly reminiscing on his conversations with Steve Job, the founder of Apple, about setting up successful businesses as well as relaying anecdotes about his trip to Rwanda as the first western visitor following the genocide there.
The new boarding house, which is part of an ongoing building programme at BCS, boasts fully ensuite rooms in five star accommodation. Boarding at the school is full and the new facilities have added to the demand for places.
Councillor Chris Rochester, Mayor of Bournemouth, remarked on the happy school during his tour of the site. Principal Stephen Duckitt said "BCS and Bournemouth are both vibrant, cosmopolitan, energetic, exciting, ever changing and growing communities and both are hubs for excellent international and UK education."
