PREP SCHOOL GOES GREEN
Pupils at the Prep School spent last week going green when they held an Eco Week as part of the schools effort to achieve the Bronze Award from the "Keep Britain Tidy Eco-Schools" group.
Pupils counted to see how many of their class mates walk/scoot or cycle to school. They also recycled books during a Book Swap session enjoyed listening to outside speakers talk to the children about conservation. The week culimated with the children wearing something green to school on Friday and enjoying a fashion show from Year 3 – 6 who made and modelled clothes made from recycled bags and clothes which would normally be thrown away.
Early Years Co-ordinator, Charlotte Hayes said “Our pupils are constantly thinking of new and exciting ways to make us a greener school and they are very aware of their responsibility to protect our planet and conserve our resources.“
Pupil Isabel in Year 5 said “I hate to see paper and rubbish being wasted and feel so much happier we are recycling all that we can at BCPS”.
