URBANISE COMES TO BCS
URBANISE the street sport and arts festival comes to BCS. Over 300 pupils from the prep and senior school are taking part in workshops in skate boarding, free running, street soccer, street dance, DJing, graffiti and urban graphics. The event is co-ordinated by The RELAYS (Regional Education Legacy for Arts and Youth Sport) project which seeks to engage young people in the South West in sporting and cultural events in the run up to the London 2012 games.
Principal Stephen Duckitt said "I believe that pupils learn best from exposure to as many different opportunities as possible. The URBANISE festival gives pupils the chance to develop new creative and sporting skills, and to work as a team in new and challenging situations. This will enable them to develop new creative, artistic, physical and communication competencies".
