Records Tumble at BCS

After his first year as Principal, Stephen Duckitt is delighted to report records all-round:

• A level results show that 1 in 3 grades were A*/A
• 13% of grades were at the new A*: double the national average
• A 50% improvement in the top grades at A level this year
• 96% of all GCSE pupils gained 5 or more A* - C grades, up 10% on last year
• 1 in 3 GCSE grades were A*/A
• 23% improvement on Key Stage 2 results with over 75% level 5 in English and well over 50% level 5 in mathematics and science
• Early Years unit awarded ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted
• Pupil numbers up by 24%, necessitating waiting lists in some year groups and the creation of additional classes in others
