Y7 Geography Field Trip
The recent warm weather certainly provided our Y7s with perfect conditions for their Geography fieldtrip to Swanage. The pupils confidently conducted questionnaires to visiting tourists, environmental surveys at 10 locations and mapped land use all within central Swanage.
After lunch the group walked briskly over Ballard Down to Studland beach. En route Mr Harris pointed out many aspects of the coast as we all enjoyed the stunning views across Poole Harbour, the Isle of Wight and Swanage Bay. After nearly 5 miles everyone enjoyed a rest at Knoll Beach cafe (many sampling the ice creams) before returning to BCS via the Sandbanks ferry.
We were lucky enough to be able to be joined for the day by three visiting Italian pupils and their teacher. What a fantastic opportunity to be able to show them some of our local surroundings.
