Teachers top of the class

Staff at Bournemouth Collegiate School have been recognised both nationally and internationally for their achievements in and out of the classroom.

•  Fiona Wilcox, Reception class teacher has been nominated for the Teaching Awards 2010. Her success was celebrated in assembly this week where  she received a huge cheer from the children and she was presented with her certificate, alongside the pupil Stars of the Week. We would like to congratulate Mrs Wilcock on her nomination and thank her for all continuous efforts to recognise and promote ‘The best in everyone’.
• Peter Harris, Director of Studies was invited, as one of only three international speakers, to the Fulbright Teacher Exchange Programme in Chicago .  Peter gave a presentation on how the exchange programme, which he took part in in 2004, impacted on his life and teaching since his return to the UK.
• Alison Davies, Head of Pastoral Care, recently completed the Rome marathon raising funds for Round Table Children’s Wish.
• Helen Reid and Sandy Hussey are taking part in the Playtex Moonwalk in aid of Walk the Walk, a grant making charity that donates funds to breast cancer causes. As well as sponsorship money they also raised funds by holding a cake sale in school.
