Pastoral Care
Preparatory School Pastoral Care
- The Preparatory School staff work closely to ensure pupils’ well-being. Individual, physical and emotional needs are supported in close liaison with parents. We aim to provide a friendly environment in which all pupils feel comfortable, safe and secure. Pupils are encouraged to develop spiritually, culturally, morally and socially.
- Through Personal, Health, Social and Citizenship Education sessions pupils are encouraged to develop tolerance, understanding and to have regard for each other and their possessions.
Senior School Pastoral Care
- In each year group, BCS Senior students are allocated to a tutor who is responsible for their academic progress, discipline and pastoral care, as well as everyday administration. Tutors have an important role to play in our school community, and they pay careful attention to each student’s progress and development. Year 7 students are supported by members of the Sixth Form who offer help and provide practical support.
- The school has a number of trained staff who can assist pupils with pastoral issues, including a school counsellor, the Assistant Principal: Pastoral and Discipline, the school nurse and an independent listener.
