THE BCS TENNIS ACADEMY
The BCS High Performance Tennis Academy is designed to allow boys to combine tennis training and academic education into one integrated curriculum.
Players will initially be offered a minimum 12 hours of core training per week – split 6 hours during school hours and 6 hours after school, which will include tennis and fitness training. This is dependent upon their curiculum timetable. Within the 12 hours they will be guaranteed 2 individual sessions although additional hours can be added to the programme if required.
KEY FEATURES
Players will receive:
- Programmes tailored to individual needs but all designed to maximise potential and deliver high
performance training
- Daytime sessions based around the player’s academic timetable
- Fitness testing three times a year to evaluate overall fitness and conditioning levels
- Ongoing musculoskeletal screening with a physiotherapist to assess any muscle imbalances within the player and provide appropriate excercises to address any issues
- An annual tournament plan
- Video analysis through the use of Siliconcoach and associated goal setting
- End of term reports/ termly goal sheets
- All Tennis Academy players will receive complimentary membership at the The West Hants Club
- Academy clothing
Entrance Criteria
Applicants must have 9.1 rating or better by the April prior to entry in Year 7.
Entry into other year groups is by application and players must meet the age group criteria.
Academy applicants will be expected to spend a trial day in school and a tennis assessment day at The West Hants Club, which will take place in the January preceding entrance.
