Our Lovely Boarding Staff

The boarding team is supervised personally by the Principal, Stephen Duckitt and his wife, Hilde, who live in the Principal’s house at the edge of the school site. Margo Cox, Gary Smart is joining Jo Nowak and her husband Rafal as our boarding staff team.  Margo’s husband, Rob and their 9-month old daughter, Megan, will be living with all the other boarding staff on a full-time basis in the boarding house, forming a real community.

Gary will be well known to the ex-Uplands pupils as a PE teacher, he continues in that role at BCS as well. Margo was previously Head of Geography at Talbot Heath School and spent 7 years of her school life as a boarder herself, so she knows all the tricks of the trade while husband Rob is a policeman.  Hilde Duckitt is an advanced Nurse Practitioner and will also be looking after medical issues at BCS.  All the boarding staff love sport and have planned many exciting new activities for boarders.  In addition they have between them three cats (Wendy, Maverick and Goose), while Stephen and Hilde have a dog named Chester, a water spaniel - so boarding at BCS will truly be a home from home. In addition, all school staff play an active role with boarders and enjoy taking boarders out on weekends for activities.
