Meet the Boarders

Kirill Y8 from Russia says

“In the boarding house, there are lots of interesting people and things to do.  I like playing basketball in the evenings with the two pro players from China and learning to play ping pong with the other boarders.  In the mornings, I like going running along the beach or swimming in the school pool before breakfast”.

Alex Y11 from Romsey says

“In the boarding house, I can go for a morning swim or jog and play basketball to keep fit and also have the freedom to attend the local Rugby Academy and play for Bournemouth at weekends.  But the best thing about boarding is the friends you make and the interesting people from all over the world in the house”.

Steph Y9 from Alderney says

“Being a boarder means you can never be lonely because you always have friends around you.  You can never get bored here because there are many activities going on such as ice skating, museum visits, cinema trips and even dry slope ski bobbing.  We also enjoy our competitive table tennis and table football matches.  The house staff are very much like parents and make everything like home”.

Nele Y8 from Germany says

“ When my Mum first came up with the idea to go to boarding school in England, I couldn’t believe it – so far away from my home, but in the first week in the boarding house, I found good friends and every day feels more and more like home. Now I can’t imagine being without my friends and new family”.

“Als meine Mutter zuerst die Idee hatte, dass ich ein Internat in England besuched sollte konnte ich es mir nicht vorstellen.  So weit weg von zuhause, aber schon in der ersten Woche in dem Boarding House habe ich Freunde gefunden und jeden Tag fuelhe ich mich mehr zuhause.  Unsere Freundschaft ist jetzt so gut und ich koennte mich nicht vorstellen, ohne meine Freunde und meine neue Ersatzfamilie zu leben”.

Becky Year 13 from East Wittering

"The boarding staff provide a warm and supportive atmosphere, enabling the boarding students to work to the best of their potential and to be happy, well- rounded individuals. Many of our boarders say that they have more fun here than the day students, as they are always surrounded by friends and there so many activities going on. The boarding community is mixed and is multicultural, this enables all the boarding students to understand and learn about different cultures and religions.  Many of our boarding students stay friends for life."
