Full, weekly or flexi?

At BCS we have created a unique boarding culture where full, weekly and flexi-boarders all have equal opportunities and are all treated as one of our boarding family as equals.  Some of the boarders stay as full boarders and spend Monday to Sunday with us, others board Monday to Friday, others are flexi-boarders and may board a set number of nights a week e.g. Monday and Wednesday night very week or may vary their nights as they see fit.  Some boarders pop in only occasionally, if the space permits.   And of course many day pupils join in on our regular planned sleepovers, or are invited in by boarders for individual sleepovers.  Many of our boarders also enjoy nights out, weekends out with day friends.

Weekly boarding is available to pupils who live reasonably close to the school and prefer to return home at the weekend – this can be a great help if home is too far away for the daily journey to be reasonable. Flexi-boarding allows any day pupil to enjoy the facilities and companionship of the boarding facilities periodically (a regular booking each week) or completely on demand (to cover a particular need). This facility allows day pupils to experience boarders’ activities, to have a sleep-over with friends, to solve the problem of needing to stay at school late on a particular day, or simply to assist parents who might have a short-term commitment that takes them away from home.
